Today I’m headed off to get my $6.99 haircut. The place I go to is normally $15, plus I tip two or three dollars (which I guess is the norm) but today they are running this special. So, I guess today’s cut with tip will cost me $10. Not bad. How much do you spend on getting your haircut? How often? And how much do you normally tip?
Carnivals that I participated in this week: (Thanks to the hosts!)
- Fesitval of Frugality #110 – Simple Categories Edition - Mrs. Micah
- Carnival of Money Stories #44 – The Circus Edition - Being Frugal
- Carnival of Personal Finance #137 - The Passion Edition - The Dividend Guy
- A Real Estate and Finance Blog Carnival - Real Estate Money Matters
A couple of interesting articles I read this week:
- GlblGuy at Gather Little By Little shares this post titled, “Could be good, could be bad“. Weekend reading at it’s best. A very inspirational post.
- Patrick at Cash Money Life gives you the IRA lowdown in “There is Still Time to Fund Your 2007 IRA“. We’re thinking about contributing before April 15th.
- Lastly, Green Panda Treehouse presents “Guitar Hero III: Saving Money has Its Perks“. I love this game and will be buying it or Rock Band next month.
Have a great weekend!

I used to do SportsClips as well. They would have the coupons on their ads in Minute Maid Park for half off, so if I used those I would usually get my haircut with the shampoo for about $10. Unfortunately I haven't seen any of these coupons for a while, so I stopped going there.
When I don't have SportClips coupons, I will go to TGF on Tuesdays for their $10 special. Either way, I usually tip $5 unless the stylist is particularly annoying or unpleasant.
