Very insightful and inspiring to many I'm sure. I have always had the same approach.... if you feel you are overpaying for something or a deal is there to be had....it doesn't hurt to ask! If you are polite....the worst that can happen is they say "no". I'd like to share something that happened a couple of weeks ago as another interesting way to save money. I had gone to Macy's to buy a pair of Sketcher's tennis shoes that originally cost $125 dollars. I had a 25% off coupon from Macy's that would have been a nice reduction in cost. The only problem was Macy's didn't have my size! They then suggested I try a different Macy's in another mall. Well, I just wasn't in the mood to shlep there so I was not happy. As I was exiting Macy's I passed another shop that had the same shoes....only they were $125 with no discount. I decided once I saw they had my size to ask if they would take my %25 discount from Macy's. The salesgirl said she did not have the authority to do that. Since I was the only customer...I suggested she call someone who does have authority and ask them. So, she called and lo and behold....they were only to happy to take the coupon and make the sale.....win/win. Yeah!!! I also love a deal !!! Daniel, I liked your blog a lot!!!
