Giveaway: Win One of Jean Chatzky’s Money School Classes

Jean Chatzky's Money SchoolI’m a big fan of Jean Chatzky and her unique brand of personal finance advice. I personally selected her to be our keynote speaker at FinCon this year. I’m sure you’re familiar with her work as the financial editor of the TODAY Show.

Jean is in big demand, naturally. So she can’t meet with everyone one-on-one to help them with their finances. But she really has a passion for just that. So she created Money School, her virtual classes aimed at helping you take control of your financial scene. The classes start this Fall and you can win a free class thanks to this giveaway.

We asked Jean, what was your motivation for starting Money School?

“Two things really. I’ve been asked by many people over the years if we could sit down, have coffee, and I could teach them how to manage their money. I always feel bad that I don’t have the bandwidth to do it individually — but these live web classes make it possible. The people who’ve been in the classes so far say that they really feel a) motivated and b) that I’m talking to them. And, second, my parents were teachers. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do.”

We also asked her to describe the ideal student for these classes?

“Someone motivated to get their financial life in order who feels they need help connecting the dots. I’ve often pointed out — I’m an English major, not an economist. If I can do this, I believe anyone can do this.”

More About Money School

Money School helps you take control of your money with simple, affordable, virtual classes that Jean will be teaching in real time. Each one-hour live class consists of a 45-minute lecture followed by 15 minutes of Q&A. Then, during the week following each class, the Money School team and Jean will host virtual “office hours,” so that you can ask any questions you didn’t get a chance to ask after the lecture (or that you didn’t think of until later).”

Money School Classes

  • September 17 – Budgeting Bootcamp

  15. Wow, what a wonderful giveaway!! And just what I need right now! I have gone through Dave Ramsey’s Total Money Makeover book, back in 2007, and came down from $35k in debt to just over $10k, where I am at now. I would be debt free right now, but unfortunately had some major financial struggles to overcome over the past couple of years. So now I am definitely wanting to get back on track, get a budget going, and get my debt paid off… All of it!! I have an emergency savings around $4k and I started my own business, selling jewelry online, in addition to my full time engineering job. But I am really bad when I go into any bead store or am shopping for jewelry supplies online. I just can’t seem to get control over my spending in that area. Please help! Sounds like this class could help me for sure!! :-)

  16. Whoops… Forgot to say which class I would prefer… I would like any of them, but probably the Budgeting Bootcamp or Debt Diet would be best for me. :-)
