I’m really sorry to hear that, Amy. You’re right. You’re not going to be able to feel good about the finances when there’s breakdown of trust in the relationship. I’d advise seeking counsel to work out those issues. Then focus on the finances.

Finances are destroying my marriage! We took the FPU and are still struggling because my husband still isn’t open with me about where the finances are. He owes people private loans for the last 6-9 years and they haven’t seen a dime from him. He lives in denial over the finances. I found out today my children’s health ins. was going to cancel due to lack of payment. He only pays $20 a month for 4 kids!!! HELP!!! How can I feel good when he isn’t honest with his fellow men on his debts? God can’t bless us!!! Will this program help a couple like us??

Go Matt, Go! If you have the Money Map Book, you’ll find some good Biblical references to accompany your journey.

Peter, will definitely talk more about it. The system works the same as the Baby Steps, but there are a few differences.

Jason, I read your post a while back comparing the money map and baby steps systems. I’m more familiar with Ramsey’s system having taken his FPU course and helping to facilitate it as well. I’d love to hear more about the money map and how it works!

Tonight I have week 3 of the 14 week Dave Ramsey FPU course… the wife and I are loving it so far.

I also have this book, though I have yet to read it. Thanks for the great breakdown, you have inspired me to get off my hands and go read this puppy!
