I like my grandmothers old advice. If you're cold go put on a sweater. I don't keep the house ice cold of course, but I don't walk around in the winter in shorts and a t-shirt either. I've gone over so many people's homes in the summer where I'm too hot. I think people like to feel all nice and toasty, but really could get by setting the temp up to 5 degrees lower which would save them so much over the course of a winter.

One more thing!
You can buy a insulation blanket that goes over your water heater for $25 bucks. It will save you money on your water heating cost especially if your water heater is not in a well insulated garage.
