Your Tax Rebate May Arrive Early

by PT on April 25, 2008

Previously, the IRS reported the Stimulus (or Rebate) Payment Schedule for tax returns processed by April 15, which says the first payment would begin in May.

Apparently they are bumping these dates up a bit.  Now, according to CNN Money the Government, “eager to boost the flagging economy, will start distributing special stimulus payments Monday – four days earlier than expected.”

Read my previous post on this issue for more information on the tax rebate.

I’m really looking forward to this rebate so I can continue building up an emergency fund and paying down my auto loan debt.

Thanks for the heads up on this one. Hard to imagine the government being ahead of schedule on anything! Must be a real push to get the money in the hands of consumers who might shop us out of this recession. We plan to save ours – take that patriotic shoppers!

I will believe it when I see it, although my regular tax refund did get deposited exactly when the IRS said it would. Kind of spooky. When I get my tax rebate check, I will use it to pay down debt. Which is what I think most people plan on doing…

I’m looking forward to seeing my savings account grow!

Well, less the $200 we need to buy a new door. :)

I will be taking half of it and putting it towards my vacation in June. The rest is going towards car repair and some much needed clothes since I lost some weight in the last year.

Sorry Uncle Sam, I’m using mine to save for future expenses. Will help pay for son’s last semester of college next spring.

You know, I have been talking all this time about how I’m going to use my rebate for saving up my fat emergency fund, but I decided over the weekend to save for my motorcycle first. So TAKE THAT BUSH! I’m going to stimulate your economy after all! I feel very involved, all of a sudden.
