Man Shaving With Razor

While shaving today I realized that I am down to my last disposable razor cartridge.  I’ll have to purchase another set before next week (add that to our shopping list Mrs. PT).  Spending money on disposable razor cartridges is one of my least favorite things.  I know this expense bothers a lot of other people too.  Check out the black market (kind of) for razors.  Anyone ever tried that or the buy in bulk method?

Instead of doing anymore whining I’ll offer up these somewhat pacifying solutions.  With these links you’ll be able to sign up to receive various promotional items.  I can’t promise they’ll be free razors for life, but I’m sure whatever they’ll send will help out a little.  I signed up for them as well.

Also, while there are none currently running, Walmart sometimes has some free razor samples on their Free Samples page.

A quick edit: Lynnae from BeingFrugal.Net posted several frugal shaving ideas this morning, including an interesting link to Save-A-Blade.  Head over and check it out.

OR! You could shave with a straight razor! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUK56EqF-B0

I use a Quattro for women that I got for free when they first came out and love it. I dry the blades after each shave and the disposable blade-packet things last me about a month before going dull. It’s the water causing micro rust that makes the blade dull, not nearly as much as your using it – which is what we’re led to believe. Try drying off the blades :) If your wife has a hair dryer out regularly, you can blow it dry in about 30 seconds after dabbing off the droplets.

@ Shanti – I was out on that video and idea when he said “scar”. No thanks! :)

You know, I’ve often thought about drying my razor like you mention. Seems like it would help. I’ll start doing that and see how long I can go.

btw, yesterday afternoon i received a new free quattro razor in the mail. i guess i had ordered it a while back. so, i guess i won’t need to buy new cartridges just yet. :)
