This is totally a chick-thing, I'm sure... My haircuts are just cuts (no color, blow-out, etc) and I pay $55 every six weeks. My rationale (excuse?) is that I am a high school teacher. I need to look professional, both for them and for their parents when I am in contact with them. Plus, a great cut lasts longer than a crappy one, and I'm not stressed about whether or not I appear unprofessional. I've known and loved my stylist for over 10 years... she's quick to tell me if a cut I want won't work with my hair/face/etc... That honesty is priceless. Plus, she keeps up on the latest styles, but knows that I'm pretty conservative. She ALWAYS does a perfect job. And the exterminator is a necessity at $60 every quarter. I could treat fire ant mounds and kill bugs as I see them, but I MUCH PREFER not seeing them AT ALL in the first place!! (Some of this is stemmed by JD's post at Get Rich Slowly...)
