Trade For Free Books on BookMooch.com

by PT on January 22, 2008

I just StumbledUpon a neat little website called BookMooch.  It’s basically a place to get rid of the books you don’t want anymore and subsequently get books you do want.  Where I live, I call this Half-Priced Books and the library.  But if you don’t have a library close by or the library doesn’t have the book you want, then BookMooch may be for you.

With BookMooch, you earn points for listing and trading your books.  You then use these points to “purchase” books you want.  There is no cost to join, but you have to ship the books you trade (so, there’s your cost).  BookMooch makes it’s money with Amazon book links.  I guess they are counting on some people wanting the book sooner, rather than later.

Let me know if you give this a try or have already used it.

I have and prefer http://www.swaptree.com. No points, and you can trade books, cds, dvds, and video games. Better interface and more active users.
