My 15 New Year’s Resolutions
I know. I know. I’m kind of a few weeks late on this one. I hadn’t posted my 2008 resolutions yet because I wanted them to be specific and attainable and more like a true set of personal finance goals. I couldn’t settle in on HOW specific and attainable because I was missing some details. My company has switched benefit providers and I haven’t been able to (i.e. been too lazy to) contact the new firm, Schwab, to ask some questions and get some things changed up.
But today I changed my thinking. Resolutions don’t necessarily have to be goals. They can be more of a bold declaration or even a simple proclamation. I can save the goals for later and have a little fun with these. After all, I’ve posted my saving and debt reduction goals for all to see. So, with that said, the below aren’t my goals. They are simply, resolutions.
I resolve to do the following in 2008:
- Volunteer more to help others
- Experience new people and places
- Discover new music and information
- Learn to live healthier and even more within my means
- Treat my body better
- Read more quality books and blogs
- Grow closer to my Wife and family
- Simply get off my ars and move around more
- Provide quality information to others
- Listen more to others and to what experience tells me
- Give more of my money away
- Learn to be more efficient with time
- Leave our bad debt behind for good
- Create more things
- Be more intentional with everything I do
My plan is to post these somewhere where I’ll see them each day. If I achieve even half of these this year, I’m sure to be better off. Share your unusual or unique resolutions in the comment section below.
