Check Your Savings Fitness Level: A Free Booklet

by PT on January 14, 2008

I just received my free “My Money” tool kit.  I ordered it a little over a month ago from mymoney.gov after discovering their site.

Several things came in the tool kit, but the thing that initially stood out to me was the little booklet called Savings Fitness: A Guide to Your Money and Your Financial FutureClick here to see the pdf.  It was developed by the Department of Labor in conjunction with the CFP Board.

Save Booklet

The booklet offers the following topics using a fun “fitness” theme:

A Financial Warmup
Your Savings Fitness Dream
How’s Your Financial Fitness
Avoiding Financial Setbacks
Boost Your Financial Performance
Strengthening Your Fitness Plan
Personal Financial Fitness
Maximizing Your Workout Potential
Employer Fitness Program
Financial Fitness for the Self-Employed
Staying on Track
A Lifetime of Fitness Growth
A Workout Worth Doing
Resources

The information is presented in a cool format and thoroughly covers the topic of savings.  I’d highly recommend this booklet to anyone that’s new to savings: high schoolers, college students, and recent grads.  But really anyone at any level should be able to benefit from this read.  I also recommend this booklet to any certified financial planners that may want to offer something extra for free to your clients; or pf bloggers that need an extra resource or two.
