This past week I’ve been conducting an inventory count of all my online account IDs and passwords. It’s taken quite a while. My list includes anything from utility accounts to online social networking accounts. I think I have around 50, and I know I’m still missing a few. That’s a lot, I know, but I bet you have plenty too…maybe even some you’ve forgotten about. I think it’s important to keep track of all these accounts and passwords. Now I have most of them on one excel sheet I’ve uploaded to Google Documents (a secure site) so I can access anytime from any computer. I’ve only shared it with my wife, so no security issues. How are you keeping track of all your IDs and passwords? That scratch piece of paper in the top drawer might not be cutting it. Here’s some advice from lifehack.org.
